It has firewall interface similar to sygate's interface with anti mac spoofing and stealth mode browsing.

That is not surprising since they bought out Sygate some time ago and now use it's firewall engine.

I am kind of confused of what this actually is though. Maybe because it has been a long day, lol.

Symantec is showing its power of acquisition and we can see sygate firewall integrated with symantec antivirus.

Ok, I had a good sleep last night. Don't ever post when you need crowbars to keep your eyelids open, lol.

Strange though that the Corp. Beta is public and the Home Beta is private. I don't have a spare machine to try this on. Maybe someone will post some screenshots here.

Is the default for corporate only suppose to use Weekly sig updates? I don't feel so safe with sigs from Monday after repeatedly updating.

    Looks great!
Syamntec always do excellent job, I think NAV 2008 and SEP will top products in end of 2007 and 2008 years!

So far it is running good but the network protection(firewall module) got crashed and i lost network connection while using the backtrace> whois tab. I will try to repeat it to find if it is a bug.

looks like symantec's main rival is getting tetchy:

"Security vendor McAfee has criticised Symantec's Endpoint Protection product, which was announced on Wednesday.

McAfee said that Endpoint Protection 11.0, which was codenamed "Hamlet", did not deliver what customers want."

ive got to say what a nice neat little interface.
it reminds me a bit of kis6.0 interface.
also i like the "stop all traffic till the firewall starts and after the firewall stops"
i want that option for kaspersky.
i will bring my test pc downstairs later and install IE6 on it so i can test out this beta.

Those security settings look almost the same as those in the firewall of Sygate  I think they implemented the sygate firewall in this product :thumb:

Yes SEP 11 uses the Sygate firewall. It does have a lot more features than the NIS firewall, but they may be trading some stability of the kernel drivers in favor of functionality. I've never seen in the NIS firewall blue screen.. Sygate firewall many times.

Sad to see, but i saw bsod with this beta. I think zombini said it right. The other bad thing about this beta is that i was unable to uninstall it.

I had a rough go with this one as well.
Hopefully they will fix some of these issues with the next release.
