    G'Day,
I'm thinking about an upgrade to ADSL. Will I need any EXTRA security? Does Broadband let more bugs in?
Currently I've got XP SP2 firewall, NAV 2003, Adaware SE, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, CWShredder, HijackThis, Cleanup.
System is always very clean....Rarely if ever do I get spyware/malware. Can't remember the last time SB or AAW found a bug.
Use firefox (mainly)as browser. Always clear temps/cache/hist/cookies etc.
Would I need to beef up security?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks to all,
    Buck

    Hello, Bigbuck. :)

If I were you I would invest in a better firewall. At least ZoneAlarm Free.

    Hi Bigbuck,

As you might be connected 24/7 I would advise a router/nat/firewall combi.

    Thanks Gerard,
What can you tell me about these? Would that be regarded as a "hardware firewall"? or does this thing come with software that is installed? Sorry for sounding like a real twit!...but I'm just a dumb Aussie boy!
    Cheers,
    Brad.

A lot of DSL modems have a NAT built in, some even have actual firewall settings. Do you know what modem you are getting?

Well... if you say so... but if I were to be connected 24/7, I'd sure wanna know who comes knocking on my door when I'm away from my PC....

How about a hardware firewall that can be installed inside your modem, that would stop most of the trojans from reaching your computer.
