Running Windows 7 x64 Professional and Windows 7 x86 Professional. Just purchased a 2 yr, 3PC AutoUpdate License.

After installing the new license keys into SWB on computers, I checked the SWB setup in Task Scheduler. Under the Triggers tab>Daily setup>Advanced Settings, the "Delay task for up to (random delay)" is checkmarked and set to 305656 seconds. Why is this set to such a large random delay?

    Hi,

On Windows Vista/7+, SpywareBlaster AutoUpdate is set up to check for updates at two different times:
    -When you log-on/start-up your computer.
-Once a day (handy for those who don't reboot/shutdown their computer often).

The delay configured for the "Daily" schedule is an upper limit. (The actual delay is a randomly chosen number from 0 to that upper limit of seconds.) This simply helps to ensure that the daily AutoUpdate checks from everyone who has it installed are spread out over a reasonable portion of the day (and thus not all hammering our update servers at the same exact instant). :)

EDIT: (And just as a point of clarification, the random delay upper limit should be 30,605 seconds.)

    Best regards,

    -Javacool
