I've written an article slash tutorial on how to use SuRun with a standard account in Windows 7 with temporary administrator privileges, similar to sudo concept in Linux, including setup & initial configuration, prerequisites, necessary user and group changes, real-life testing with installations and Windows updates, comparison to standard Windows privilege elevation prompts mechanism, other considerations, and more. Take a look. http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/surun-windows-7.html Cheers, Mrk
SuRun is an awesome little utility I've been using for years on my Win7 machine for elevating trusted programs from a user account.
Unfortunately not fully working on Windows 10 x64. Installs and runs, but zero access to SuRun settings (whether through control panel or surun /setup) and therefore zero ways to elevate ant processes with SuRun. Also dramatically slows down UAC prompts.
Just take note that with SuRun, the elevations occur in the standard user context which may pose issues like this: SuRun elevations can allow malware to elevate in a standard account Even if you decide to use SuRun, do not disable UAC as you would lose the advantages of Integrity Levels.
