Mozilla is concerned about fair competition for a 3rd place in a browser market (probably 2nd on Windows browser market)
I don't understand why some are still claiming Edge browser can't be removed from one's system. I've been doing this very thing for a couple of years now using HiBit Uninstaller. It's just gone, with no nags or anything, just the way I like it. I mean; yes, it has to be uninstalled every time Windows is reinstalled. But that's a tiny price to pay as far as I'm concerned.
and i dropped chromium instead. chromium got awful, in many ways. users using chrome while edge is ditched, it does not matter which one you pay with "privacy".
Maybe a lot of folks didn't realize it was that easy. I hadn't thought about using HiBit myself, most directions I have seen for removing it involved deleting files and messing with the registry. I may try that myself on a test machine and see how it goes.
HiBit and then the Advanced scan to get rid of the remnants that will nag or continue to haunt you. The remaining remnants after cleanup are dormant for me and don't do anything. I do keep the WebView 2 runtime as I like the Weather app. Not sure if the Weather needs WV2 any longer but I keep it just in case other Microsoft things depend on it. I think NovaBench may still depend on it but I haven't d/l it recently.
