come this version available over automatic update?
or do i need to manual install this version?

 

Typically the new builds are pushed out via automatic update a few days after the standalone installers become available.

 

I've been waiting a few days since 5.5 went to public and yet I haven't had any notifications in my tray. It's the first time that I'm missing the program update notification.

The problem is that if I install SAS 5.5 on top of my 5.1 it asks me to uninstall the previous version. I'm not a big fan of uninstalling security apps because it could break my system.

Is there an easier way to force the update?

Try closing SAS, starting it again using "Run As Admin", and then checking for updates.

Still unable to detect newer version... Ran as admin but still no luck at all...

 

Today I was (finally) offered the new version via the internal updater.

 

Yes, I got the same...so I let it update, but now it says I have version 5.5.1012.

 

Yes, that would be more recent than 5.5.1006 You're good to go.
