I use Superantispyware and find its a fantastic app. (V4 is out and even better)

Does anyone know anything about superadblocker? Does this contain the same abilities in detecting malware etc, but with the ad blocking facility as well?

    Cheers.

SUPERAdBlocker has blocked every ad I've encountered, but haven't used it in quite a while. You might notice a (small) slow-down in browsing while using it though.

    Re: Superantispyware and Superadstopper?

SUPERAdBlocker contains SUPERAntiSpyware Personal Edition. The scanning engine is the same as SUPERAntiSpyware 3.9.1008, but does not feature all the customization features such as custom scans, excluding folders, logging, etc. that are in SUPERAntiSpyware Professional. We will be releasing a version of SUPERAdBlocker that does not contain SUPERAntiSpyware so users can get the "best of both worlds". :)

As a recent (today) purchaser of SAS Pro with the "lifetime" extra, I hope there will be a small "incentive" offered to buy the new SAB without SAS.

    Regards,
    Jim

    Hi,

Yes, it is about the time.

It will be a strong competitor to Ad Muncher.

    Looking forward to....

Will the ad blocking version stop web bugs, nasty scripts, tracking cookies etc? Im using SpyStopper Pro to cover this at the moment.

Will the new version be like Ad Muncher in terms of lightness and updates? SuperAdBlocker (4.6.1000) blocks/filters ads, pop-ups, etc using its engine (generic?/heuristic?) while Ad Muncher uses its Advert List (blacklist). I also noticed that SAB only updates its ad blocking rules during a program update (from changelog). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there a support forum for SAB?

We use both blacklist and heuristic techniques and have since we launched the product 4 years ago. The ad-blocking rules are checked for updates every 8 hours and are downloaded as necessary.

We will be adding a support forum for SUPERAdBlocker as well - we do offer the same prompt, courteous and accurate support as we do with SUPERAntiSpyware.

Thanks for the fast reply. So, the price will be reduced since SAS Personal will be removed from SAB? Also, will it be as light as Ad Muncher?

We will have pricing for SAB, SAS and SAB + SAS so people can pick exactly what type of protection they want. SUPERAdBlocker will feature all the lightness of SUPERAntiSpyware and the current SUPERAdBlocker - we have several performance increases up and coming.

Why not combine Pop-up Sentry and SAB into one ad-blocking product? Just add an advanced/typical mode option in SAB. The advanced mode has the features of SAB while the typical mode has the features of Pop-up Sentry. Just my thoughts.

They really each have different target markets due to their individual looks.

Make the program skinnable :D. IMHO it's a hassle to develop two programs with the same function but different GUIs.

I installed Super Ad Blocker - it blocked my PC from opening any new windows on my desktop! For example, if i double clicked on a zip file or folder on the desktop, it would block it from opening - I selected the option to allow new windows (or was it popups) at this site, but it still blocked it. Had to remove it!

Im sure there is some way round it....

Are you running any other ad blockers? It obviously should not do that at all, if you would like us to check out your system, you can submit a ticket here and we can assist you:
    http://www.superadblocker.com/support.html

I would be curious as to what on your system is conflicting so we can find a work-around.

I will do - in the meantime, other security apps I have are AVG Anti_Malware, Spystopper 4, System Safety Monitor (full), Unhackme and SpyStopper pro (which was disabled!)

none of these has any popup blocking abilities.

    Cheers,

    Chris

May I know when it is scheduled for releasing?

I am definitely interested (BTW I am a SUPERAntiSpyware Pro user).

Spystopper is a rogue program, so you may want to consider cleansing your pc of garbage asap.

The Spyware Warrior site does not consider SpyStopper as a rogue. It is listed as a "legitimate/licensed clone" of SpyBlocker (which I am not familiar of). Also MajorGeeks wouldn't include SpyStopper to its downloads if it's malicious.
