I am very disappointed of superantispyware. I received a license as a gift from a friend and since I often format my pc for the clean feeling or change security, it seems after a few times the license is no-longer accepted anymore. So I am unable to use it since then.

So I give superantispyware a big THUMB DOWN.

I don't know about Brand New Look, same or very similar color scheme and design. It looks better yes, but more like an improved look.

    Forget GUI.
Its detection should improve dramatically to gain more users.

Did you try getting a hold of the company so they
can take care of this issue?

Is it just me or does the supposed new GUI look even more outdated than the current one?

Seriously, this would only look great on my 10-year-old PC running XP with Zune theme installed.

Tried it in Time Freeze and liked it. Can't comment on detection, but it looks nice and ran smoothly. I was given a LT license for being a beta tester some years back, and it still works fine.................. I have never been given anything, by any company simply for beta testing their product. SAS is the only one.

I had tried but did not get anywhere with them. I still have kept the registration number.

Oh, this happened to you as well?

I had a lifetime license. Changed OS's a few times, some reformats, key was shut off. Contacted support, and was told they couldn't 'find' my license. I went back and forth with them for nearly 6 months before giving them the bird, and moving on. They STILL haven't resolved this, and I am STILL out of my money. I could never, ever recommend this company, and will proclaim that loud and clear, over and over.

I like the new look. But it would take more than just good looks to lure me into using SAS again.

Yeah, I remember the issues Frank, but you never know this new version might be better. I'm interested in what others who test it have to say.

Actually I tested the free version on some malwares, and it did better then the old version. Shockingly it picked up 2 trojans that malwarebyte failed to detect. It also detected a few more PUPs that hitman pro and MBAM failed to detect.

So as a free version for on-demand scan its good to have.

Hello taleblou: If it's not too much trouble, would you please qualify the above with your logs? Thank you. :)

Did they finally fix that context menu scan? Or take care of FP's, especially with legitimate session cookies?

A bet late my friend. I test it while in freeze mode with random malware links and do not have logs. But next time I tested and saw anything unusual like what happened in my post above, I will try to copy the log or save a snapshot of it.

    I understand.

I think you too can understand how those results could help other A-V/A-M maintainers update the products we depend on.

Of course our Wilders Admins/Mods would understandably delete a post with toxic contents.

So, if you wish, you can PM me URL(s) and I promise to pass to responsible malware hunters who serve to improve our protections.

    Thank you taleblou :)

Been ages since I've tried SAS. Giving it a go now with my lifetime license.

I can tell one thing already I'm not liking is the always on top GUI. It's taking forever to clean cookies, and I can't see half of what I'm typing here.

They should really warn you to close your browsers prior to doing its cookie cleaning. It takes 10x longer if your browsers are open.

Nothing like trying it out yourself. No, they made it worse. The context menu still requires SAS to be running, but now includes the needless "SUPERDelete File Removal".
The two entries cannot be disabled separately, but at least they don't show up normally since I have SAS on fully manual.

I haven't fully tested my second complaint, but so far so good at least in my virtual machine.
