I had a request lately to downgrade my Bitdefender Internet Security License to a Bitdefender AntiVirus license as the firewall in the internet security was slowing my internet down to death.

3 days passed with no reply, so I called them internationally from Dubai every single night for 10 nights and everytime they tell me they will escalate the issue to the sales department, but nothing ever happens.

I sent them an email saying how bad the service was and how I was begging for some help for days all in vain, now they have converted my license and given me compensation extra 3 months of validity :)

lol i remember how many times you said you thought bitdefender was the lightest thing out there but it was slowing you down to death? well i guess this is decent service i would not call this super. it seems to have taken a lot to get it straightened out more than i would say it should have anyway, a email, 3 days later you call them for 10 days, then have to send a second email finally to get it sorted out... not super imo

Have you tried their free version? The same detection but light, plus, well...it's free.

    What's the point?
The "Super" 10 days delayed reply or the "Super" 3 months for free peanuts?

BitDefender customer service is....okay, I guess. I bought a license for a friend under my own credit card. Since BitDefender conveniently hides the option unless you click to see it for autorenewal, it was left enabled. It took me hours to explain to support why I don't want the autorenewal for that order. They kept telling me they'll add 3 months to my license.

After some frustration they did disable the autorenewal for that license. Decent? Yes. Super? No.

Its no problem, like you say BitDefender is so good you can just ask them to downgrade you to BitDefender free and add an extra 3 months onto your BD Free License, and get them to send you a complimentary mug with your username on it, and a private seat at all board matings and gatherings. :thumb:

Not knocking you, man, but I'd say that's pretty pathetic service. Also, how did Bitdefender go from the greatest program since sliced bread and the lightest, too, just days ago, to making your internet crawl? I like new programs too but that is why they have trials of more than a day or two.

I hope you continue to happy with Bitdefender berryracer as it is an excellent product. I also hope you won't start bashing Bitdefender the moment you have an issue with it ;)

let's hope so. Eliminating the Bitdefender Firewall from the equation solved everything, my internet is super snappy.

in the past, downloads were fine and fast. But browsing webpages was much slower. I think it is due to the firewall checking everything but I only visit safe sites anyways so

my system is super snappy now and my license is valid till June 2017 for 5 computers :)

Good for you berry.:):thumb: Just a thought. Would downgrading to the AV not increase the subscription period? And I'm not talking about the 3 months compensation. :doubt: The IS and AV are not the same you know. ;)

what firewall are you using now?
Try BDAV with Outpost Pro or Comodo FW (with learning mode for 20 minutes) :)

I cannot agree: this is a real success story - to downgrade from BDIS to BDAV!

Though it would be much better if BD helped to fix the FW issue.

I dont think BD can fix the FW issue. Log on to their forums and see the myriad of threads about this issue

Software vendors are generally helpful if you have problems.

Any problems you may have can often be worked through given time.

    Let's move on.
