What do you want to sue them for?

Nobody could successfully sue Kaspersky for not detecting some malware as Kaspersky has never claimed to detect all malware.

the article you linked where someone considered suing MacAffee was a different situation. It would still probably be a hard case there to win but the reason that individual considered suing MA was b/c of a false positive in which MA was identifying the individual's program (which he had authored) as a trojan.

I should sue Al Gore for "Inventing the internet" and allowing my system to get infected. :)
Come on most of us are American let's sue somebody! :)
I mean come on a Lady Sued McDonalds for makeing hot coffee and won, or the guy who sued McDonalds for makeing him fat, I guess we can sue Kaspersky for allowing our systems to get infected. :) :) :)

Weak...? Maybe after 7 or 8 bottles of vodka... Hell, you would be too. :D

Then again….If you could find a court judge that appreciates the booze, maybe you could win a case…..

    Sorry I couldn't resist.

If you are trying to make a case with that one point you stated above, then I don't feel you would have a very legitimate shot at anything besides blowing your money on a lawyer. I don't know into which court system you would try to bring this to, but I know here in the states the losing party also has to pay the court fees, and I can only assume that the laws are not so dissimilar in any court system you would be able to get this heard in. Just my .02

Eh idiot. I guess he was the the same idiot as McDonalds guy.
avast! flagged my programs as trojan few months ago and Alwil team fixed the false positive in around 4 hours. Should i sue them? Ofcourse not. They even fixed FP very fast. Thats just proof that they want to fix their errors as fast as possible. Some people just don't understand. I wonder where are they from...
    Mars maybe...

I run KAV5 and I think I may sue them also. They are boring, all it does is sit there and update all of the time. No excitement at all, you would think it might let a trojan or virus through just to liven up my life. But no it just sits there doing it's job being boring ;)

ok I think I know what you are asking. Between mcafee and KAV I would say that KAV detects a little more Than mcafee but not much. They are both very good at detecting trojans, dialers, and worms and most all other malware. If resources usage was a concern I would say that the latest version of each actually run pretty light on a newer system. I really believe that Kav 5.0 runs lighter than mcafee. These would be my #1 and #2 choice. My third choice would be Nod32, it runs very light and virus detection is excellent. Nods trojan and other malware detection lags behind mcafee and KAV but they are improving as time goes on.
