Hello, I getting frustrated with increasingly intrusive adverts which my older software does not block anymore due to them being mainly https. I use agnitum opfw which of course is unsupported now and does not filter https traffic. Adguard seems to only work with installed browsers and doesnt seem to pick up portable web browsers. What do other people use? thanks Martin
I'm using uBlock Origin in my browser. Since that's only program that can deliver me adds it's enough for me.
When traffic is protected by TLS you must use in-browser apps (add-ons) or proxy with MitM attack capabilities and add certificate of that proxy to browser trusted list of certificates. Most users just use add-ons for browser.
You can manually select browser executables (portable or otherwise) via Adguard GUI. I've had to manually add portable Chromium (chrome.exe) located in RAMDisk previously. You can also add virtual machine software executables to allow Adguard to filter VM guests.
MITM (man in the middle) software needs to break TLS to work properly. (any antivirus traffic protection do same way) extensions like uBlock work in browser directly when data has arrived. advantage system: system wide advantage browser: efficient
