If I renew now, expiry at the end of the month, will the renewal extend my subscription? I assume so, but can't remember.
The new mechanism with the keys handed out by the website will when you enter the renew key while having a cert with rest validity active generate a new cert with the 1 year + the count of days remaining on the old cert. So you can apply it any time without loosing anything.
