strange result in av-comparatives

    hi

    the total number of virus in On-demand comparative is 386.000

    but The standard KAV databases currently contain 135338 records

    so how can KAV found 380.000 virus in On-demand comparative o_O?
    the databases contain only 135338 virus !!

    A single signature in the database is generalized enough to catch multiple types of viruses.

    yep, it's called variants

    one sig can find 'variants' of other similar viruses

    btw, current test-set of August contains around 420.000 samples :D
