strange problem w/outlook express

Hiya all! I tend to be the lurker and have learned so much from reading the board and before I tell my problem I wanted to say a quick THANK YOU!
now... the trouble Im having is I can NOT get my outlook express to work I open the program and all that loads is the left hand side (where folders are listed) and the top where tools and such are listed then it completly stops I ended up having to use clt/alt/del to close it as a not responding program?
I have done adaware/spybot/avg and 2 online virus scan engines also did a restore point nothing worked so heres my hijack log file,

Hi there,

I'm thinking of a corrupted inbox or possible outbox problem, whichever you accessed last when sending/receiving a mail.

There is a way around this, but you'll probably lose the contents of the inbox/outbox, as a fresh has to be recreated. I'm guessing it's inbox related.

Maybe make a backup somewhere of the following entry (in my documents or so) : inbox.dbx (I think you can import it again via file -> import -> messages : import from stored folder or something, not sure)

Then rename the original one to inbox.old. When you restart outlook (from offline) it will create a blank new inbox.

Not sure if it will help, but worth a shot. Unless you really have some mails sitting there you really do not want to take chances on losing them.

ok I deleted (fixed) the 1's ya said Pieter thanks!
Unzy, I cant get to file/import/export I cant get anything to work in my outlook but I did notice it is down-loading mail?
when last I used outlook I was in the inbox and printed a messege using adobie (sp) it did come from a VERY realiable source a bank actually so Im guessing I will have to delete outlook from add/remove and reinstall from my D drive?(D drive on my com is a seperate drive with my "restore" no disc's came w/this com) if so can someone lead me as to how I do it?

Hi again,

I meant the file -> import thing only if you had important mails stored, that you don't wanna lose. You had to backup the old inbox, and when the problem is solved by doing so, then you could use the file/import option.

1. if you have important mails you do not want to lose, backup inbox.dbx first. (in a temp folder)

2. Rename the original inbox.dbx to inbox.old

3. try accessing outlook from ('work offline') , it will create a new(blank) inbox.

4. Work online again and see if opening outlook works then
