strange files

anyone know what the files are that have the follow name

DG1__DS_DIR_HDR


I have found several (in the hundreds) in various directories and sub_directories

I have managed to delete them all, I think

 

Have you scanned the files/the pc (before or after you deleted the files)?

 

Why did you delete them before you knew if they were important or not?

Putting 'DG1__DS_DIR_HDR' into a Google search also points a lot to websites 'themecraft.net' and 'pervaya.com', the latter of which Firefox says may not be a 'safe' site.

 

My first question, what have you installed lately on your system? A game, some sort of "theme" software? Has your security software given off any warnings? What kind of files are these, .txt, .exe, what?

 

It is possibly caused by encryption software DGAgent.

To answer why I deleted the files, I noticed that the files appeared on a certain date when it seemed to coincide with a date when i tried to read a dvd.

So this issue is closed
