Hello Everyone, In the current issue of the UK Computer Active magazine (Issue 694 page 8, there is an article stating that "More than two million VPN Passwords have been stolen in the past year", including over 1.3 million from Proton VPN. The analysis was conducted by Swedish security firm Specops. Would anyone care to shed any light on this alarming figure? jaypeecee
Without more information anything is possible, I have never used Proton VPN so wouldn't know and again anything is possible these days. Did some searching and it could be: https://www.tomsguide.com/computing...-use-unique-passwords-especially-for-your-vpn I tried a few over the years and will only use IVPN.
Original artcle : https://specopssoft.com/blog/breached-vpn-passwords-malware/ Never used one of VPN's list, always IVPN with 2FA (managed locally by KeepassXC) I can't believe that some people use "easy password" just for recall. Minimum entropy start at ~100 bits for a correct security password. Password generator are useful and with a manager like keepass, keepassxc, bitwarden......... you 're done!!
I see no problem here, VPN has no logs, so if a hacker logs in, he can use VPN and that is it. He can not spy on your connection with it or whatever. It is yet another scareware. If you use it for another Proton services, that is another issue.
https://techbsb.com/cybersecurity/o...ds-stolen-heres-how-you-can-protect-yourself/ I, being a Proton VPN user, vaguely recall receiving a notice from them. Once again, it was lazy people getting bit by that laziness.
