Statcounter

    Has anyone noticed something called Statcounter being detected by AdAware or other spyware detector? Does Spyware Blaster block it?

    Do you have any other info concerning Statcounter ?

    SpywareBlaster does not list that as an entry in it's Restricted Sites or Cookie protection and am not sure about ActiveX protection.

    I have also placed this General question in a Forum where those that use the other programs you mentioned might be able to assist.

    Hi,

    Statcounter is mentioned in, for example, the original adblocking list AGNIS for AtGuard and in IESPYAD from Eric Howes.

    IESPYAD puts sites listed in it, in the restricted zone of IE.

    Example for it in IESPYAD :

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\statcounter.com]
    "*"=dword:00000004

    My eyes are simply too bad to see whether it is placed in the NOT-for-everyone-section or not.
    Others have to find out :doubt:
