Does anyone know whether there is an option that allows certain files to be excluded from the automatic startup scan?

I am using FastOpenPro which is a customizable menu which runs from the system tray. It contains links to most of the applications on my system and it appears the startup scan is scanning every .exe file in those menus.

This takes a couple of minutes to complete and seems to use nearly 100% of the CPU resources so nothing else can be done until it completes.

    Hi !

Yes , it is possible to exclude what you want . In addition to this exclusions , you can do something else:

    1. Open the GUI and turn to Advanced Mode
    2. Navigate to Tools -> Scheduler
    3. Edit the System startup file check task like shown for v2 here (steps 1-4 only):

The point is to make it with priority "When idle"

    4. Then open the GUI -> press F5 and

You can exclude FastOpenPro's folder and all files inside if you add an exclusion for it in this format (for example)

    C:\Program files\FastOpenPro\*

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

The file in question is an .exe file so I can't use the "exclusions" else all exe files would be excluded?

Will try the folder trick - is this just a matter of renaming the folder?
    Thanks again.

You should add the folder from the tree and then use the edit option to add the star (*) at the end so that it looks like that :

    C:\Program files\FastOpenPro\*
