I've had NOD32 on my HP laptop with XP for a month.
I installed Startup-Mechanic and it found 3 harmful Trojans. I disabled them.
My laptop then booted up and "fixed & deleted" lots of stuff and now will not start (even in safe mode). It just goes to blue screen with the windows logo.

Hey, I just accidentally found that F11 goes into a recovery mode. So I hope that does something good! I had very little on the computer, so I'm only half sad. Hopefully only a half day wasted.

Well it sounds like this Startup-mechanic found some "false positives" that shouldn't have been deleted.. In any case HP offers recovery solutions on every laptop so you should be fine once you've done that.
I don't think your problem has anything to do with NOD.
