Hi, using XP Home edition - During initial boot, displays RPCSS is starting and pc hangs. Cannot reboot and there is no activity (hdd blinking light). Nothing happens even left overnite. Several attempts on and off main switch sometimes 15 to 20 then there is bootup. Tried to disable rpcss file but unable. This happened when I used Tuneup Utility 2006 to clean registry. I am using 56K dialup which also frequently gets disconnects during use. PLEASE HELP.

Can you boot into Safe Mode? If so, boot, and restore reg via Tune Up Rescue Center.
