SSM version number?

Hi ive just got a key for the commercial version of system safety monitor, does anyone know what the last stable release was and a download link as there are so many version avaliable.

Not stable version. But its very stable.

Also remember SSM is discontinued.
So u should go for another alternative like OA free , Outpost free like that.

 

I believe SSM was labeled beta only because it was being made compabitle with Windows Vista. So if installed on Vista - it's beta, if installed on XP - stable.

Even though SSM was discontinued I'd still rather have it than Online Armor or Outpost Firewall Free. In my experience vs real malware SSM is more efficient, not to mention a lot lighter and more stable. Online Armor is too resource heavy and toobuggy for my tastes.

 

Where is the last stable free release for Win 98? The free version won't install on 98 possibly due to an msi installer update prior to installing SSM. 585 gives BSOD like crazy when you try to bring up the main window.

The SSM last 622 beta won't run on Vista SP2 - period.

 

I never said it was supposed to run on Vista SP2. I said just "Vista".

 

All the free versions work on 98. The last stable free version is 2.0.8.583. I've uploaded a copy a copy of it here. The Wayback Machine also has a copy. If it won't install, you'll need the VC redistributable update for 98. It's available here.

The free version works on 98FE thru XP-SP2. SP3 breaks it.
2.4.0.622 is the last pro version. It can be regarded as stable on 2K thru XP, beta on Vista. Vista service packs break it.
