    Here is the link-

    http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

This is the full version and you will be given a license code. The only limitations are as follows:

    "Terms and conditions

Please note that the software you download and install during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:

    1. No free technical support
    2. No free upgrades to future versions
    3. Strictly non-commercial usage"

"Price: The program is available for $34,95, but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer."

I have installed this program along with the license key. It is version 2.3.0.610 and the license expires 7/19/2007. Looks like one heck of a deal to me!

D\L`d it myself. Was going to hang on to it for future use. However, it must be activated within the 24 hour period as well or it will be of no use. That would explain why "activate.exe" requested internet access.

I just tried the activation, did not install however. It gave me a key immediatly (after allowing it in the Firewall settings)

Might be the activation server is flooded. Will probably install it later on my "crash dummy" :D lap top just to get it activated and have the key for possible future use. I am currently trying out another similar program that I am impressed with so will probably not stay with SSM.

    dang it.
can you just get the keycode from actovate.exe then keep hold of the key file for ages?
or do you have to put it in to the program within 24hours?/

Safe the key as a text file and copy/paste later.

That I do not know. As mentioned in a previous post by Pinga, you can retrieve the key from the registry for use at a later date. Just not sure how to track down the right entry. I would think you would also have to install it at least temporarily in order for the registry key to be created.

lol they give it you free only until a certain month . . lmao basically its a extended trial licence lol, but i think it will dupe alot of people into using it and then not realising it does not last forever, then pay for a licence. Very cleaver :thumb:

I tried it out on a test box. No need to install or go into the registry. Just unzip the folder and run activate.exe.

It goes online and returns a text box with the serial key. If you don't want to install immediately, all you need do is then save this into a .txt file and you have the key ready for installation at a later point. At the same time your browser will attempt to open a page entitled; "System Safety Monitor activated - what next?"

I installed SSM in a VM, no problems with activation. I saved the activation key for anytime.

This SSM download appears to be release 2.3, which is current.

    Thank you very much, acr1965!

I am not sure you can save the activation code until later. May so, maybe not. Perhaps someone from the giveawayoftheday.com forum is also someone who can post here on Wilders and let us know?

FWIW- I thought the program license had to be activated within 24 hours.

That is my question. Whether just obtaining the key is enough, Which I have done and saved to a txt file, or if actual program activation is required.
Edit; Also, with them moving to a 1 year "full support" lic. as noted in another thread, I wonder at what time that time period begins?

To verify I installed SSM on the host computer, using the activation code that was generated in the VM. It works without any problem.

    Version is 2.3.0.610.

The 24 hour limit applies only to the download, as I understand it.

The license expires at 07/19/2007. That must be the catch?

I believe the "read me" text file included in the .rar file states it also applies to activation.

SSM's licence only applies to free updates - the program itself should continue to work indefinitely (though if this offer is supposed to exclude updates then the licence should "expire" immediately). See the SSM forum Competitive Upgrade thread for more discussion on this.
