Does SRWare Iron connects to Google upon start up? Or does it connects to Amazon like Brave or maybe to some ISP? Thanks
Yes iron does connect to google upon start up plus the source code is closed to the public.I see no reason to use iron as it provides no extra privacy over chromium or chrome.Settings within chrome can be changed to achieve the same. Its a pointless browser and you would be better using chromium.

Well, there's that. Mind you, I trusted it more than Chrome. My main gripe with Iron was that it was a bit buggy.
well, that i can understand. and yes, it was still buggy last time i tested it (though it was the portable edition).
A lot of people find SRWare a bit suspicious and clandestine but I honestly don't know if they can be trusted or not. I remember their adblocker list (Fanboy's usually) which I would copy/paste at regular intervals into it. Necessitating deactivating the UAC on Windows Vista. I don't run Windows or Iron anymore. To be honest I'm trying to avoid Blink/Chromium browsers. My main browsers now are Safari and Firefox. Opera as a back-up on Ubuntu. All of those should survive the big Google Chrome adblocker switch-off (Opera has its own extensions and adblocker). Well done Google you've finally convinced me to abandon Chrome. Although, as Iron is closed source, its adblocking capabilities may still work after the big Google adfest event horizon. Hey Google, I'm typing this in Safari 12.1.1.
