SpywareGuard - Why are there never any updates?

I downloaded and installed SpywareGuard back on September 25. SpywareGuard shows a Definitions Date of 10/5/2003. There hasn't been any detection updates since October 5th?

I've repeatedly ran its LiveUpdate and it always reports there are no updates. Meanwhile, SpywareBlaster has had several updates since then. So have Ad-Aware and Spybot. Since other products are obviously showing there are new threats and new updates to cover them, why is SpywareGuard dead? How can SpywareGuard claim "Download protection prevents the download of malicious spyware in Internet Explorer!" when in fact it has never been updated to detect any threats newer than whatever the install included?

As a demonstration: I happened to install the latest version of CWS this morning which to date is only detected by TDS3 (AFAIK)

SpywareGuard will not stop it, but you will certainly notice something is wrong:
