    Hi,

Every time I use SG's liveupdate i get an error 5 and the program terminates (crashes)
    What is the problem here?
I did a fresh install today.

    Hi Fraha,

In at least two cases that i know of, people with a trojan on their system had the same error message popping up.

I'm absolutely not sure this is the case on your PC, but just to rule out all possibillities can you do a free online scan here please?

    TrojanScan

    Thanks!

    Cheers,

Here's the info from the trajan scan:

    Starting scan at 11:50:01:765...
    Scan Memory
    Memory not infected
    Scan folder: 'C:\', recursive
Unable to scan C:\System Volume Information - Toegang geweigerd.
    Finished scan at 11:59:27:140
Total number of files is 61765, number of infected files is 0
Average files per second is 109, average file size is 4609913

So the result is, no infection!

Thanks Frans for taking the time to do this!

    Well, that's ruled out then.

I think Pieter's link might do the trick.

    Cheers,

This problem is not solved yet! I downloaded update files but the liveupdate option stll gives me error 5 and crashes.

I could live with this, but this way I never know if I have the latest files.
When the program keeps doing this I cannot recommend it to others in my circle.
Can it be fixed, did I miss something? English is not my first language so this is possible...

    Please advice

    Frans
