Spywareblaster on w98 works, with IE6

I couldn't get the gui of Spywareblaster 3.0 working under win 98. Version 3.1 had the same problem.
Then, for other reasons, i upgraded from Internet Explorer 5.5 to Internet Explorer 6, sp1. Suddenly, Spywareblaster 3.1 did everything it should do. Just one strange thing. It urged me to update to a newer version of spywareblaster, so I uninstalled and downloaded the newest version, being the same 'old' 3.1. However, it doesn't ask me to get a newer version anymore.
