I'm using Spywareblaster and every time that I initialize the program to check for updates, when the program loads it tells me that there is one unprotected item. When I see the blocked list it is Blazefind (In bold font, red and the check box un-checked). I check it several times already, but again when I reload Spywareblaster there it is: there is 01 unprotected item. This goes on and on. I'm considering uninstalling this hole program, because this is annoying and I cannot be sure that the program is doing what it is supposed to do! Any comments on that?

    Thanks in advance,

    Claudio.

I have the same problem and can't figure it out either. Anybody have any suggestions? I don't use AOL so that is not the problem

There's more than one BlazeFind entry in the database - which one is it?

The only way for items to become unchecked is for some other program to undo the protection because there is no active nature to these settings once they are enabled. While AOL's anti-spyware protection is one that sometimes conflicts with a few SpywareBlaster protections, there are many other anti-spyware tools that could do this as well. It is also possible that there is an active spyware infection already on your system, and it is that program that is removing the protection. SpywareBlaster isn't a cleaner, so an active infection could certainly be the cause.

    I'm having the same problem.

I was/am infected with some variation of CWS/about:blank.

I have tried cleaning with ad-aware, spy-subtract, spybot. They each caught something different, but all come up clean now. There's still something there though because I get the odd pop-up (when I'm not browsing) and the protection for blazefind in the restricted sites section is being disabled (there's only one blazefind listed in my restricted sites).
