spyware in bad sector

I am not very computer literate. Therefore I had spyware blaster installed by a computer service trying to help me with my computer. However, for some reason when I double click on the spyware icon it tells me that it is in a bad sector or taken over by a virus and I need to reinstall. How do I do this since I didn't install it myself in the first place? I asked the guy who did and he just said reinstall it...
