Spyware Blaster

    I got a copy of Spyware Blaster v. 2.3?? from the magazine Windows XP Answers. It installed O.K. It could not upgrade itself and directed me to the web site. I downloaded v 2.6. Tried to install it and had a problem. Uninstalled v. 2.3 and tried to reinstall v 2.6. Same problem. See below.

    C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster\spywareblaster.exe

    An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
    DeleteFile Failed; code 5
    Access is denied

    Click Retry to try again, ignore to skip this file (not recomm) or Abort.


    Retry does nothing.

    Please advise.

    Running Windows XP.

    Take a look at this help thread by Javacool:

    The first item in there describes the error and says basically that the file is in use. First step is to reboot and then retry it. If it's still locked, you made need to boot into safe mode, but try a normal reboot first.
