IMHO no....given the fact two of it's features....ActiveX(kill bits) and Cookie protection sit idly by until needed for your Internet Explorer and even when needed....the slow down IMHO would be so small it would be a non factor. The Restricted Sites protection on the other hand does add slow down in regards to the loading of an Interent Explorer Window. However....that slowdown would also be a non-factor IMHO since the Restricted Sites contained in the Spybot's Immunize database numbers only approximately 1500 entries and the reading of those entries from the registry would not add noticeably to the overhead. Where one would see a noticeable slowdown in loading an Internet Explorer Window in regards to Restricted Site entries would be those databases that number in the 10's of thousands and the reading of those entries from the registry would add noticeably to the overhead.

In the below thread....read the paragraph that starts with "The first level of protection is immunization …" to gain some knowledge about immunization. In short....it provides ActiveX(kill bits), Per site cookie protection and Restricted Site entries for IE's Restricted Zone.
