I noticed my processor temps keep moving. When I checked Task Manager my CPU stays at 13 percent ( scvhost .exe system). How can I find out what is going on?

While in Task Manager, go to the Performance tap then click on the "Open Resource Monitor" at the bottom. You should be able to narrow it down from there.

Huh? What version of Windows? You should also be able to open "Resource Monitor" from the Search box in the start menu.

I hope you don't connect to the Internet with it.

I don't know what you can use. I think under the Processes tab (not Performance), you might be able to narrow it down.

You might try an old version of Process Explorer.

You can install Process Lasso Free -- It will tell you more than you need to know -- it's compatible with XP

Just install the 32X [I assume] or 64X version from this link.

Install with the defaults for simplicity, e.g., just keep clicking OK on install dialogues

It may improve the responsiveness of your PC as a side bene

    https://bitsum.com/?#downloads

After install, click-on the green tray icon to open the main window.

Then click once on one of the CPU Columns (CPU%,CPU Average,CPU Time) until you find the culprit. Note - clicking twice will list CPU Usage in ascending order - clicking again goes back to descending order).

I downloaded from the link, opened it and clicked on run and it says that XP is not supported. It said that I have to use Version 8 bt I couldn't find the download for it.

    Was this recently?

V 8 installer is here but V 8 is vintage 2015 and if set to auto-update -- bye bye. I think default may be auto-update -- can change from "Update Menu" at top of main screen.

    Darn. I could have had a V8 !

It changes to Ver.9 soon as you try to run it and then tells you it won't work with XP
