    Hi everyone.
This is my first ever post so please be gentle.
I am having problems with my home computer and secthought.e virus.
avg finds the virus in my temporary internet files/contentie5 however when I try to send it to the virus vault it just hangs.
When I search for the content ie file, its not there.
It has also crashed my email
I have run ad aware, spybot & hijack this.
    I am running windows xp
    thanks

    Hi goonda9,

    Please try this.

Boot your computer into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key just before windows begins to load. Then empty your Temp folders:

C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit -> Select All then Edit -> Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder (do not delete the Temp folder itself)

C:\Documents and Settings\ <user's name>\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit -> Select All then Edit -> Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder (do not delete the Temp folder itself) <--do this for all users.

Open Internet Explorer - >Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Now click the "Delete Cookies" button and click OK.

Reboot back into normal mode, and do another scan with your antivirus. Let us know if everything is fine now.

    Regards,

    snap
