Solaris 11 on the desktop

  1. Not the obsolete open version, but the proprietary one - which appears to be free for personal use, though I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone here ever run it on a desktop machine? How does it compare to Linux, especially in terms of hardware support?

    Yes, it uses GNOME 2 and installs it by default. The text install only has terminal.
