Have tried to create an image onto DVD with external USB DVD Writer. It gets all they to start writing and then fails without even trying. It's an LG DVD Writer on a DELL Optiplex 520.

    Any Ideas??

    Hello paulmc18,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Complete System Deployment Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

The current version of Acronis Snap Deploy does not write to DVD disсs directly, instead it utilizes third-party UDF-packet DVD-writing software. We may recommend you to install a UDF-packet DVD-writing software such as Ahead InCD or Roxio DirectCD, format DVD disсs by means of this software and then use formatted disсs with Acronis Snap Deploy.

We will certainly implement direct DVD recording in Acronis Snap Deploy in the future.

We recommend you to try the following workarounds:

    - Download the latest build (1330) of Acronis Snap Deploy, which is available on our web site at the Product Updates section.

    - Update any third-party CD-writing software installed on the computer to the latest version available on the respective web-site.

    - Try decreasing the burning speed of your DVD drive by half in order to reduce the possibility of data corruption.

If none of these tips help then please make a screen shots of your step-by-step actions which you took during the image creation process and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
