Ok, so I got my PXE server running.

I successfully created a master image and then created a new template to deploy to 5 PCs. This completed successfully, but on reboot, I got a dialog saying, "The system is configuring in accordance with.." where it is supposed to generate new SIDs and change my computer names. I used the string "COMPUTER{0}" as the name setting.

This never completed. If I clicked the red X to close the dialog, it logged into Windows XP Home, but said it couldn't find gpupdate or something.

Then I tried it again on the same PCs with the same image. This time, one computer completed (and got stuck on the same dialog), but the others just stopped imaging. I have to run the Cancel Wizard.

    What's going on?

Does XP Home not support the change computer name functions?

My image has Auto Logon enabled to log into a Limited User account. Do I need to turn this off within the image?

    Thanks!
