SmartSecurity 6 freezes Windows 8 during the boot

    Hi,

    i'm using the last release Eset SmartSecurity 6 (6.0.308.2 / French) on several PC under Windows 8. During the boot process, Eset freezes the PC (when i go to the desktop, i have only the wallpaper and a few icons in the task bar) up to 1 to 2 minutes. if a remove or i disable eset or use another vendor solution i have no trouble.

    i read several notes about it but i don't find any solution.

    any idea to solve this problem ?

    Hey mephishop

    I can't offer a solution, sorry. But just out of curiosity, what happens if you disable HIPS in the advanced setup, and then reboot. Does windows 8 still freezes? Do you use default settings? and Do you have any other real time protection running besides eset? Like Malwarebytes e.g.

    yes. i did the test => same result
    i notice also the same trouble under Windows 7
    Windows 7 or Windows 8 service control manager says ESET Service is waiting to start(event ID 7022)
