    Hi,

First time here and first post.

Okay a bit of background about the issues I am having:

I installed Eset Smart Security as a trial and let it run its course. At the end of the trial I decided to purchase. I went ahead and purchased the license from the UK website.

I tried unsuccessfully to uninstall the old version but it would not uninstall and told me that files were missing! and this is where problems started. I then tried to install new version over the top and it would not let me install the new version (it kept rolling abck the install) and kept telling me that there is an error and the files are on a network that cannot be found!

I then raised the issue with Eset support this has now been three days and no reply and two mails to them. After speaking with a couple of others who use NOD32 this is no surprise that the UK support office takes the money but doesn't follow up with support very well.

I then decided to do a system restore (Vista Ultimate) to an earlier date and this did nothing either except to roll back the half uninstalled version to a SEMI-working state. As it happens now the Firewall does not work at all, the only thing is the anti-virus working. The firewall is reporting a malfunction.

I am now at a loss here, I have tried forced removals and cleared the registry but still it wont install and still I have to keep rolling back to a semi-working state.

My last resort was to come here as Eset will not respond to support request I found this forum and report it here.

    Thanks

Okay now I am in the right place, I still have no joy with the issues of this uninstall, Eset finally responded with a one liner saying: Try uninstalling in Safe Mode, which I did try and it is still the same thing.

    Hello,

For these types of issues it is often best to call in order to receive a prompt reply.

Contact information for ESET's UK distributor can be found here on their web site.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
