yes the strange random names + cpy.dll are a good indication of the new L2M parasite that is getting hard to remove safely

If you want to lose the real toolbar then first look in add/remove programs in control panel for realtoolbar and uninstall from there, if not there then do this

Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD60B590A87D} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\Real\Toolbar\RealBar.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: REALBAR - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD60B590A87D} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\Real\Toolbar\RealBar.dll

    Reboot
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    and Delete this folder
    C:\PROGRAm files\COMMON files\Real\Toolbar\

as soon as we have a working solution for the .cpy file problem we will advise you. the fix posted might work on xp home but it isn't guaranteed and might well damage the computer causing the need for a reinstall of windows.

the hosts entry is not right ,

please fix taht entry with hijackthis

First I am not a PC Technician. We put the PC on the Bench. Our Technician in Florence, Oregon made the fix. He had to remove the hard drive and put it on another operating system to delete it. It would not delete in our PC.

Has another solution been found?(L2M hijacker) Thanks for all the help!!!!
