Being new here, I first did a search, but don't find a thread for this problem.

I have SpywareGuard installed on my Dell 4300 with WinXP, along with SpywareBlaster, MRU-Blaster, Spybot and AdAware as well as McAfee AV Pro 8, and ZoneAlarm. All programs work fine on that computer.

I also have all those programs on my Dell 4100 with Win98SE, and all but SpywareGuard work fine. But when I install SpywareGuard on the 4100/Win98SE computer, the installation goes fine and works momentarily. Then I get this error:

I tried a reinstall over the original, same message. So I uninstalled SpywareGuard, ran EasyCleaner on the registry and did a new installation which did exactly the same thing and resulted in the same error message.

Anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it? The same downloaded file was used to install to both computers.

    Thanks

Well, either this is an unknown issue, or nobody here knows about it. o_O

So, I guess I'll just forget about running SG on this computer.

    Thanks anyway. *puppy*

This is an issue for the software developer. Javacool is very, very busy in regard to devloping software, fixing problems etc. Please bear in mind this software is freeware for personal use, and there is no extensive developing staff available as is the case over on Symantec for example.

Bottom line: bearing the above mentioned in mind, please be patient ;)

    regards.

Thanks Paul. I understand the issue of freeware support.

It is not my intent to be criticizing you, and I appreciate your position.

    Hi,

I'm not quite sure why that error is occuring.

I'll try to reproduce it - and if I can it shouldn't be too hard to come up with a solution. :)

    Best regards,
