Several config items greyed out

NOD32 AV 5.0.95 by upgrade from 4.2.71.2
Windows XP and Vista

1. Web and email - email client protection - pop3, pop3s
everything grayed out, impossible to select anyting
2. imap, imaps
the same issue
3. Web and email - protocol filtering - SSL (and all child dialogs)
the same issue
4. Web and email - web access protection (and all child dialogs)
the same issue

What the possible reason?
How to fix it?

In contrast to 4.x the Firefox doesn't show any ESET plug-in anymore.
Mozilla Thunderbird shows
ESET Smart Security Extension 5.0.94.0 [disabled]

I guess, the AV 5.x should be already compatible with Mozilla
products. It is not the case, actually why?

 

Might be worth running through a manual uninstall and reinstall to see if the issues persist. What version of Mozilla Thunderbird are you running? At the moment, ESET Smart Security 5 is only compatible with Thunderbird 5.0 and earlier.

 

Do you have any other products installed that do real-time scanning? It sounds like something broke the network stack integration. And I agree that a manual cleanup and re-install is probably your best bet.

 

You actually had a plug-in for Firefox? I never had one. As noted, the plug-in for Thunderbird is disabled, but even the plug-in from Eset 4.2.71.2 is disabled in Thunderbird. Firefox and Thunderbird are now at version 9.0.1. They are ever-moving targets.
