Someone is using CIS ( 4.1 ) and GesWAll with Seven ? Do they run regular ? I tried, but I believe there is a conflict; or, probably, GesWall 2,9 is not fully compatible with Seven: the system freezes, it is impossible to reboot.... Thanks if someone report his experience.

I had problems with GW 2.9 on Win 7 too - we must wait for 3.0 ;)

If you looking for HIPS Spyware Terminator is great. :) It has 64 bit support now for the RTS and HIPS.

That might be a very long wait indeed if development continues at its recent level :p

Although I have never used used GW on 7, I would guess that the compatability issue could be related to using Comodo and GW on the same machine at the same time as both are HIPS applications. If I am looking for free HIPS I would go for Online Armor free, too often Online Armor is assumed to be just a Firewall but we tend to forget that it has one of the best HIPS module around whether free or paid and quite silent for a HIPS.

Very true.I visit their website very often to see of new developments and there is not even a beta of 3.0 till now and they had announced 3.0 quite sometime ago at current pace it may take months, but even if they release one I doubt how good or different it would be in comparison to previous versions because looking at their attitude it seems that they are developing version 3.0 just for the sake of developing a new version.

Yes,if not actually abandoned it's certainly been put on the back burner.Sad really as it was a rather good product (and still is for supported OSes) :'(
If development ceases on a product and the technology can't be sold,I wish that the creators would make them Open Source rather than just let them wither and die.

I've used CIS 3 and 4 + GesWall 2,9 since many years without any conflict or slowdown: the conflict must be with 7.

last time I used GesWall 2.9 alone with 7 it worked flawlessly

but when I install Spyshelter FREE which is a HIPS together with GesWall under Windows 7... I can't boot properly.

GesWall 2.9 probably has conflict with HIPS programs under Win7 o_O

I heard Geswall 2.9 has problems with Vista and 7's UAC. Does anyone have problems with the UAC conflicting with Geswall?

yes! due to UAC behavior GesWall cannot mark file as trusted unless you move/copy the file you want to mark as trusted in other partition :)

Yes ...you are right...I forgot that you have to disable UAC to label a file as trusted....

Yup man, you were correct, GW just crashed on my Win 7 machine. It was working fine at first but today when I booted up all hell broke loose, when I tried to uninstall it, it didn't and asked me to disable the UAC, luckily after disabling the UAC everything went allright.o_O It seems that GesWall 2.9 and Win 7/Vista aren't made for each other.:'(

It varies from person to person due to personal choice and taste. For me, it should always be enabled.

I mean if you have HIPS or Geswall that will give you more alerts then you will EVER see from UAC. In all the anti malware testing videos I have seen the UAC rarely popped up at all about any of the changes being made.
