    I had the full ver of PG & want to set crucial programs for total protection from termination and test them with APT.

    Simply - what setting should be set for total termination protection - and - what setting should be assigned to APT to test them?

    thanks

    The settings needed for programs to be protected are:
    • a Protection entry specifying that they should be protected from Termination;
    • having the Global option "Block Rootkit/Driver/Service" enabled (only available in the Full version of PG);
    • programs that have a window will also need the Secure Message Handling option enabled in their protection entry in order to prevent "user imitation" attacks (which simulate closing that window). However not all programs function well with SMH.
    As long as APT has no Protection entry itself (which could allow it to terminate PG-protected programs), these should suffice - however you should also enable all the other Global options to counter other exploits (malware allowed Physical Memory access could disable PG itself for example).
