server connection error

    Please help, have tried to get updates triggered automatically.Firstly turned off our firewall...thought that may be doing it. We have dial up. Still having problems. Tried a different web site as listed...still same. In the nod box it says inactive. Have tried everything.Rang the dealer who we bought it off and he suggested we re write our password and username. Still no success.
