    Hi @ Wilders

Please note when I installed strelec to a Flash Drive Windows Defender Flagged up loads of NASTIES, some of which could not be removed. So I restored an image.

False positives (most most likely). It's very well known many applications within Strelec's WinPEs are cracked and their digital signature broken so no news here.
Restore an image for a flash drive? You just had formatted it.

    Hi Mr X
No, I restored it to my main drive because the infections were still showing. Even after a reboot and the Flash drive removed The infections were NOT there before I attempted to install to Flash drive because I ran a scan!!

Since the restore. All is well.

I only ever have been using Strelec's fast loading PE for image restores with MY OWN REGISTERED copy of Drive Snapshot which oddly i barely use any longer thanks to @Hasleo Backup Suite AND my first choice AOMEI Backupper, both which serve very well. Flawlessly in fact.

Long many years ago @Peter2150 suggested i just copy My DS Copy over to it and DONE. Which is easy as pie.

I might have tested Strelec's Partition Assistant i think but as chalked full of programs as it is, i find it's very rapid loading the biggest benefit personally. Other PE's have been Slow so that alone is what won me over as a Strelec PE user for the Toolbox of UFDs.

    Hi @ Mr X

"Did you download from here? https://sergeistrelec.name/winpe-10-8-sergei-strelec-english/"

That's where I downloaded it from!

Whilst I am not the most knowledgeable person on this forum, I am capable of reporting what I saw. There were no bugs on my PC before creating the Flash Drive and and as soon as the process started Windows Defender kicked off alarmingly. I got rid of most of the nasties (through Windows Defender) but two were left that it could not remove. I tried with Sophos Scan and Clean which picked nothing up.

That is when I decided to put last Saturdays image back on my PC. I am happy to consider the possibility that the alerts were false positives. BUT, if so, what does that say about Windows Defender? There were so many alerts!

    Terry,

I did something similar. I made a Strelec UFD a few months ago and noted a few Defender warnings. After trying Strelec I wiped the UFD and restored an image to my computer. The only WinPE I use is TBWinPE and it's only occasional use as I mainly use IFL. I don't seem to have any need to use the apps on a WinPE.

Peter was a big fan of Sergei Strelec WinPE.
He often suggested using it for TeraByte Image For Windows restore media.

And as you said, it is an easy option for Drive Snapshot restore media.

False positives due to cracked executables, nothing more nothing less.

    Hi,

I'm using the latest version of WinPE 11-10-8 Sergei Strelec 2023.04.18 (English).

Unfortunately, I can't connect to the WiFi.

At the "Network" menu, I opened the "PE NETWORK MANAGER" software => "Properties" => "WiFi". The software shows only "Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller"... so, I have not any other kind of "WiFi" controller option or alternative.
I tried every single software installed at WinPE Strelec, and couldn't connect to the WiFi nor the LAN, nor the cable connection, nothing.
I tried on both versions, Win 10 and Win 11.

But I'm not an expert, so probably the mistake here is on my side.
Please, I'll appreciate any help that can make the WiFi work with WinPE Strelect at an Acer Aspire A515-45G laptop.

    Thank you in advance!

I'm very surprised. Strelec's WLAN driver library is very extensive... I see just about every driver made available. I use an Intel Killer enet LAN and a Qualcomm WLAN... both are detected and made available for use. How new is that Acer Aspire laptop?

This Acer laptop is a brand new model from past December 2022.

The WinRE Strelect, at "Drivers" menu has several options, including "install all drivers" or "install WLAN drivers".
I clicked on both options, and nothing happened.
But perhaps I did that in the wrong way.
Please, do you know how to use these two drivers options?

Or do you know if I can incorporate Acer drivers to WinRE Strelec?

    Thank you

I did a quick search of Strelec's Driver index files and only found 5 or 6 MediaTek drivers from 2015 and none were for your WLAN model (MediaTek Model# MT7921). Driver files can be added although I don't know the exact method to use. I think there's a place you can place your driver folders and the WinPE will add them from there while it's bringing the System up. I'll check on Strelec's discussion area and see if there's an easy way to add a coupla files. If there is, you ought to be able to use Double Driver to extract them from your LIVE OS then add them to the booting UFD.

This "Strelec" was good, but nowadays a bunch of warezed portable softwares, tho there's some fantastic freeware sofware in it. Especially one freeware software where you can offline manage to stop trustedinstaller service loop problem and restoring offline registry backup.
This "trustedinstaller" bug while bootin is not caused by a malware. It was caused by a failed windows update. With Strelec and one freeware software in it, that can do offline service starup modifications, i managed to get my system back(stopped trustedinstaller service , system restore didnt not help), restoring offlnine registry hives. This prombem was caused by one "silly" malware that modifies various registry entries, then it force you to reboot. System boots tho, windows key does not work, anything does not work. Hackers called this, somecalled "delay" tech, when shuttin down the puter, write some nasty reg entries etc..

Firstly, thank you for your great help!
Yeah, I had same thought, I don't know the method, but I'm pretty sure that there is a way to add drivers (not just WiFi).

Before opening the post here, I tried to read Strelec forum as much as possible. However, two problems:
    1. The forum is too long and not organized by subjects, so is one post under the previous post, mixing subjects.
    2. I can understand the posted questions, but lot of answers and offered solutions are too technical for my level, and are not explained clearly or in simple language.
    3. Tons of good stuff is in Russian language, but when you googletranslate, is awful, too difficult to understand if the subject is technical.

Any help will be more than welcome.
    Thank you once again!

EDIT: I solved the problem: Go to "Windows Button" => "Drivers" => "Install the driver from host system".

Good work! Does the install actually try and place the drivers into the UFD permanently, or just for that use instance (make you have to do it each time)?

Yeah, any time I load WinRE Strelec... I need to install "Install the driver from host system"... but honestly, it takes less than 15 seconds my mouse-click and the install, I really don't care to do that.
And it kind to make sense this way, because my WinRE Strelec is "portable", so I don't want to have nothing saved on my Strelec.
But I'm almost sure that there is a way to save the "Install the driver from host system". For users having a non-portable Strelec, my wild guess is that they can save drivers, as you said, by putting drivers (somewhere) in the Strelec ISO before installing, or by putting (somewhere) drivers after Strelec installation.

I'm way far from being an expert, but I'm using Strelec for years, and I saw that it's possible to do almost everything, Strelec is incredible customizable.
The problem is that is hard to find info or tutorials about this specific subject.

Did you notice whether that function installed both your WLAN & LAN drivers or just your wireless?

I used the Device Manager to compare which drivers are or aren't loaded. This is the result:

In the case of my Acer Aspire A515-45G laptop, WinRE Strelec already automatically loads the "Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller" and many other drivers under "Network adapters". Sorry, I don't have enough know-how to tell you if these drivers are for LAN. And unfortunately I don't have a LAN nor an ADSL cable to test.
At current moment in this test, I only have internet access through WiFi. And the WiFi is "kaput", nothing works, it's not even possible to see WiFi connections.

Now, when I use "Install the driver from host system", then WinRE Strelec loads specifically "MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921 Wireless LAN Card" drivers, and voilà, everything works like a charm.
