Could you suggest some good security extensions that I should install to help make my firefox more secure. Only extensions availible on the official mozilla update site though please. I only know of one security update that spoofstick one to help you identify fake websites. anyothwrs I should install? Could you also tell me what they do because the deatisl about the exntions are a little vague it doesnt really tell you what they do if they are tool bars etc.

hi thanks i did that thing with adblock as you suggested. It came up with a message saying it will be interpreted as a normal expression so i just clicked ok. waht esle can adblock do? As i understand it does it allow me to block images of a certin type from being loaded e.g. .gif, .bmp etc. Does it allow me to block images from certain sites from loading also?

Hmm lots of extensions could be considered as enhancing privacy or security

a)For privacy to wipe out browsing date

    x 0.6.3
    The Cleaner

Might also consider not storing any history, or set cache size to zero.

    b) Against spoofing

    SpoofStick 1.05
    TrustBar 0.3
    FlagFox 1.1 (sort of)

    c) For policy zones much like in IE

    Policy Manager 1.3.2004081801
and another other extension that makes it easy to turn on or off Java, javascript and/or cookies.

    d) For spoofing referers,useragent

Besides turning referrers off (network.http.sendRefererHeader = 0), you could use

    spooFX 0.3,refspoof 0.6,useragent switcher

    e) cookie handling and adblocking

Cookieculler, Cookiebutton, Privacy Fox 0.3.7 (summarises P3P info)
    Adblock etc.

    f) Others

Download statusbar allows you to automate scanning of downloaded files with antiviruses

Switchproxy and proxybutton makes switching between proxies easier.

    Adblock
