I came across an article suggesting installing Secunia PSI and I wanted to know what the security experts thought about it. Does it really do the job of alerting you to what needs to be patched?

I find it useful. I at times forget to update some things and Secunia reminds me that its in need up an update and can take me to the page I need to go. :D

I've used PSI on-demand for probably a year now, and it has been useful and informative for me, and with no problems at all.

Thanks Justenough. Having read your signature, I see you don't take setting up a perimeter lightly.

I don't understand the hard to uninstall comment. I typically uninstall PSI prior to installing any new build and haven't had any problem ever. One can also uncheck the Start with Windows function and just use it on demand, so no resources are taken up.

    Essential program in my opinion.

Same here. Great little program, and best of all it's free.
