Sector 63 Errors on Hard Disk 3

I had my external hard drive plugged into a USB extension cord and was getting repeated bad sector message windows. I read KB 1514 and downloaded the new file and it didn't help. Customer service couldn't help me.

After many frustrating hours it finally occurred to me to try plugging the external drive directly into a USB port on the computer and that did the trick. I was able to create an image of my computer.

This probably seems obvious to more experienced computer users, but it wasn't to me. I had run chkdsk on my almost brand new Western Digital "My Passport" because the error message said there was a bad sector on hard disk 2. But there are no bad sectors on my external hard drive. Oh, well.
