Scanning Problems

    I am running 5 computers with windows 7 and ESS. We have a scanner and when scanning documents the only way to get the scanning to work is to disable ESS, scan the document, then reenable ESS. Is there a way to get ESS to allow scanning so that the security doesn't have to be toggled to get it to work.

    First of all, what does exactly mean that scanning does not work?
    Does the scanner have its own IP or is it shared via some computer and homegroup?

    Have you tried to set the firewall mode to interactive so you can enable/disable inbound/outbound traffic?



    Also try to look at the firewall log, maybe you will see some information about blocked communication?
