Do I need to scan a downloaded file or does NOD32 do it automatically anyway?
AMON will scan every file, that is created and accessed, so if you download and open a file from internet, it will be scanned twice - when creating and when accessing. You can also see this in AMON module details.
I have always scanned downlaoded files with my AV but just noticed that it seemed AMON was already doing it. Glad to hear I need not left click and scan every downlaoded file - I downlaod a lot of wav and midi files for producing music. Just made my mind up about renewing my subscription which runs out in a couple of weeks and not trying otu a differnent AV that has!
you can check AV functionality with eicar.com test file. NOD32 and all another AV solutions detect it a a virus, but don't worry, it's completely harmless. Download it from www.eicar.com. There are also a further information about AV software testing.
Actually it will be scanned 3 times. First by HTTP scanner (IMON) and then twice by AMON.
Rejzor, why does AMON scan a downloaded file twice?
I mean twice BY AMON .
First time - creating, just after file is downloaded
Second time - accessing (in case you try to open it)
