    Hi there.

I have been testing out the latest version of Eset as a trial before deciding if I will purchase it and while I got into an issue as posted in a previous post, I've managed to fix it but now have another question.

As my hard drive is quite large, is there an option to run a scan that will only scan files that are either (a) new or (b) modified since the last scan. I know some antiviruses offer this and it would be handy.

    Thanks
    Peter

This would be a dangerous feature as new born malware would remain undetected even though it'd be already recognized. With Smart optimization (enabled by default), files won't be scanned again unless certain conditions are met. Popular files or files with good reputation are not be rescanned either.
